Do Missing Link Community Smell Affect Developers Productivity: An Empirical Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Missing link smell occurs when developers contribute to the same source code without communicating with each other. Existing studies have analyzed relationship of missing smells and developer contribution. However, productivity involved in has not been explored yet. This study investigates how differs between smelly non-smelly developers. For this purpose, seven open-source projects are analyzed. The result shows that more than smells. observed difference is also found statistically significant.

How do developers use C++ libraries? An empirical study
C++ libraries provide an abundance of reusable components for writing high-quality programs and are thus widely adopted by software developers. However, to date there is little work investigating how these libraries are actually used in real software. In this paper, we perform an empirical study to investigate the adoption of C++ standard libraries in open-source applications, with the goal to ...
متن کاملExploring the missing link: an empirical study of software fixes
Many papers have been published on analysis and prediction of software faults and/or failures, but few addressed the software fixes made to correct the faults and prevent failures from reoccurring. This paper contributes toward filling this gap by focusing on empirical characterization of software fixes. The results are based on the data extracted from a safety-critical NASA mission. In particu...
متن کاملDo they Really Smell Bad? A Study on Developers’ Perception of Code Bad Smells
In the last decade several catalogues have been defined to characterize code bad smells, i.e., symptoms of poor design and implementation choices. On top of such catalogues, researchers have defined methods and tools to automatically detect and/or remove bad smells. Nevertheless, there is an ongoing debate regarding the extent to which developers perceive bad smells as serious design problems. ...
متن کاملHow Do Developers Solve Software-engineering Tasks on Model-based Code Generators? An Empirical Study Design
Model-based code-generators are complex in nature; they are built using a variety of tools such as language workbenches, and model-to-model and model-to-text transformation languages. Due to the highly heterogeneous technology ecosystem in which code generators are built, understanding and maintaining their architecture pose numerous cognitive challenges to both novice and expert developers. Mo...
متن کاملEmpirical Study of Software Developers ’ Experiences
There is evidence that CASE tools do not completely meet the goal of their diverse users. Part of the problem seems to be a gap between how programs are represented and manip ulated in the user interfaces of CASE tools and the experiences of software developers, includin g maintainers, testers and programmers. The empirical study presented in this paper uses two different methods to measure the...
